This record is on another level. Damn, I’m totally stoked.
Vi som älskade varandra så mycket is a 6-piece screamo band hailing from sweden and they are one of the nicest people I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet and work with. It still bothers me that I almost missed the whole live-set at the Miss The Stars Fest. Well anyway…”Den sorgligaste musiken i världen” means “The saddest music in the world” and the title of Vi som’s new album matches utterly good. They’ve put a lot of work into it and you’ll notice this with every heartbreaking line and chord.
“Allt som jag ville ha trodde jag fanns i dig,
men du valde att dra och inte kämpa för mig. Jag sade allt, allt som jag kunde, jag var tvungen.
Men orden förlorar mening, som betydelselösa för dig.”
Arvids screams are so remarkable, immense stirring and emotive, I…I can’t put it into words. The EPs and Splits were great and everything but this record is just kills it.
Another aspect which makes this band so special is the huge soundwall consisting of the best parts from post-rock/ambient stuff to old-screamo and post-hardcore.
“Den sorgligaste musiken i världen” is a highlight of 2014. Also the cover-artwork by Martin Jacobson and the inlay are incredible. They’ve done everything right. What else to say? Give it a listen, I don’t think you will regret it.
