██████ – Aside from the fact that they have the best band name ever, they’re also very talented.

The band caught my attention some while ago (november/december 2012) because they are going to support AmenRa in Berlin in May (really looking forward to this). The “Live @ Bikepunx Session” was uploaded on their bandcamp at this time and yeah it was awesome but I totally forgot to make blog post about it. Some time passed…and well…last night on my way home with the train I’ve listened to their new demo for the first time. It. was. overwhelming. Hope you’ll like them too.

██████ are a 5-piece screamo/post-hardcore and ambient influenced black metal/sludge outfit from Plzeň, Czech republic founded in 2011. Kinda like a crushing hybrid of bands such as WITTR, Austere, Vestiges and Burn Her Letters. The sound is ponderous but yet very engaging, very intense and sorta mesmerizing.

For such a relative new band they are pretty good at building up beautiful atmospheres and sound-landscapes. The lyrics are about the personal feelings of some members and written in czech.

So if you love strong and heavy emotional stuff check them out.
