“So how long,
how long,
have we listen to the old man storyteller?”
(Magnificient Liar)
Solemn League – Heartfelt Punkrock at its best.
Well actually “Different Lives” was one of my favourite records in 2012 but I just forgot to write about in my best-of-2012-list. Don’t know why, sorry for that.
Anyway…Solemn League is a band hailing from berlin/hamburg with ex-members of two amazing german hardcore bands called kurhaus and Just Went Black. They were formed back in 2006 and yeah the play a really melodic version of punkrock with a hint of 90′s american indie/emo tunes.
Solemn League have a highly passionate, thrilling and moving sound which I find really really rad. I mean, it’s almost impossible to keep still nor hiding a smile while listening to these 8 little hymns. Yep…lovely hymns, full of emotions. Like that good old friend with The Wipers shirt who gives you a clap on the back and tells you a joke to exhilarate you.
Intelligent and well thought out but yet always catchy with some sorta hit potential. So hands down…this one’s a feel good melancholic punkrock-mega-record.
Oh and the whole LP layout is also damn good. Love it.
Hope you’ll like it too. Live even better. Sing-a-longs as far as you can see…so good.
Whooooo.
