Woglake (wohglah – kay) – Haha…this is awesome.
Woglake is a rough screamo band from Iowa with a good sense of humour. The EP was recorded during a live-show and is very lo-fi, distorted and scratchy (they don’t use any microphones by the way) but if you love fucked up stuff maybe this will be your new favourite band. They also love to break things, watching cartoons, reading comics, listening to the rain, daydreaming, writing, and eating nachos = likable as hell. Don’t know what the singer yells about but I’m pretty sure it’s about pizza’s or relationships. Or both. Would love to hang-out with these guys and watch one of their shows…think that would be a lot of fun.
Well anyway…fans of L’Antietam, Ampere and Jeromes Dream should definitely have a listen. It’s a totally obnoxiously but a yet moving blast. My personal highlight is the third song called “Pizza Pizza Pizza”, a really straight-forward and heavy screamo-bastard. 5 songs. 2 instrumental’s. Rad and crazy.
